New Building Project January 2013
Once again the sound of hammers, drills, and machinery is heard around Nazareth, but this time it is in the kitchen and laundry area of the building. This part of the original building has had only minor adjustments since the originally erected for 20 residents in the 1980’s. The Staff have been catering for the present 46 residents in cramped conditions, and now will have the upgraded facilities and space relevant to the needs of the Nazareth community.
The kitchen will be extended to become a double kitchen, the laundry will be increased in size, and a new cool store will be built with ramp access.

Work is well underway and here manager Angela Aspinall is seen looking at the new foundations in front of the access ramp to where the cool store will be.
In the meantime, residents’ daily lives and routines will only be slightly affected. Dining areas remain the same, although the TV lounge next door will become temporary kitchen and laundry areas. The actual cooking of meals will be in the neighbouring Mt St Joseph kitchen, and cooking staff have been preparing to do this as efficiently and capably as possible.
Completion date is set for May 2013.
